An incredible insight into how a hospital for ex-warhorses on the dusty streets of 1930s Cairo became one of the world’s leading international equine welfare charities alleviating the suffering of hundreds of thousands of horses, donkeys and mules in some of the poorest parts of the world.

Narrated by John Greany, Brooke’s Head of Asia, this moving film takes a nostalgic look back at Brooke’s early days and takes the viewer on a journey into the workings of present-day Brooke.

In particular, it shows how the Brooke's staff in the field set about improving the welfare of countless working animals and thereby safeguard the livelihoods of millions of vulnerable people worldwide who rely on these animals to eke out a living.
