Together we can create a better world for future generations of working horses, donkeys and mules. American Friends of the Brooke supports the Brooke's efforts to relieve the suffering of working animals and provide knowledge and expertise where the need is greatest. 

This is being achieved not only by growing the Brooke's operations overseas, but also by expanding its collaboration with animal owners and other organizations around the world. 

This collaboration is fundamental to assuring better understanding of animal welfare for owners, co-operation from those with the power to effect global change and ultimately a better standard of living for working animals and their owners. Sustainability, through the education of working animal owners, means freedom. 

Freedom from suffering for the animals, freedom for the people who depend on them and freedom for the Brooke to expand its reach - and make a difference to the lives of the next million suffering horses and donkeys in desperate need of help.

When the time comes and you no longer need all that you have accumulated throughout your life, you can rest safe in the knowledge that a portion of your heard earned wealth will be wisely used to make a real difference.

Tidy up the loose ends – make a Will

Once you have made sure that your family, friends and loved ones will be provided for, perhaps you’ll consider your favourite charities.  With expert help, writing or reviewing your Will is not difficult but it is so important.  Please ensure you make it easy for those responsible for administering your estate by leaving a clear understanding of your wishes.  It is possible for you to make provision for the ones you love, as well as leaving something for the millions of working animals whose future might never be changed without the kind support of those who care.

You can leave a gift in your will to American Friends of the Brooke in a variety of ways:

• a residuary legacy: all or part of your estate remaining after family, friends and pets have been looked after
• a pecuniary legacy: a lump-sum gift such as a specific dollar amount
• a specific legacy: securities, real estate or tangible personal property
• a conditional legacy: a contingent bequest – American Friends of the Brooke would receive a bequest in the event of the death of other named beneficiaries.
